ABOUT THE COMPANY
In The Hunt Training LLC is a veteran law enforcement officer owned company. The company was founded on the principle that one should always be “In The Hunt” for knowledge, training, and preparation. “In The Hunt” was a term used in law enforcement firearms instruction referring to a ready position. This position was where the individual was looking over their optic/sights looking for a target. They were “In The Hunt”.
“In The Hunt” goes beyond the firearms application and can be applied to our lives. The founders here feel that a continuous hunt for knowledge, skills, and applications, will help us build confidence in our capabilities and better prepared for the world we live in. We believe the hunt is a never ending journey. The founders wish to build a community of those who are in the same hunt to be better each day.

Owning a firearm is a right we all possess. It is also a responsibility. Learning to safely handle and operate a firearm is critical for any gun owner or armed professional. The founders of this company believe training is an investment. When you invest in firearms training you will build confidence in critical skills. That confidence will breed more professional and capable gun owners, law enforcement officers, military members, and anyone carrying a firearm to preserve life.
Training here is delivered by professional and experienced instructors. The critical skills to safely handle and operate a firearm is the base for any solid shooter. We believe each student is unique in the way they learn, process, and apply the information given to them. We provide principles that allow shooters to explore their on shooting style while maintaining their critical skills. We also provide more advanced training for those looking to push their skill sets to the next level and continue to stay capable, stay dangerous, and stay in the hunt.
THE TEAM
CHRIS KELLEY
OWNER AND LEAD INSTRUCTOR
Chris is a retired law enforcement officer with over 16 years of law enforcement experience in Utah. He has served in several positions throughout his career. As an LEO, Chris had the opportunity to serve as a Patrol Officer, Patrol K-9 Handler, Field Training Officer, Detective, and Department Firearms and Tactics Instructor. He also served on the FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force in Salt Lake City. Early in his career Chris was selected to the department's SWAT Team which later became a regional SWAT team, where he served 15 years. As a team member, he served as a Sniper, Tactical K-9 Handler, Team Firearms Instructor, and Squad Leader.
Chris has experience developing firearms/tactics training, planning LE tactical operations, instructing tactical team tactics, use of force, force on force, active shooter, and LEO patrol tactics. He has completed several firearms and instructor courses. He also trains in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu regularly.
Chris has a passion for training and believes training creates confident and capable professionals. He created "In The Hunt Training LLC" to share what he has learned, and learn from others, continue his passion for training, and create a community of those who wish to do the same.
